Experience credits must include a substantial hands-on component from daily operation or maintenance. Specifically, at least half of the total experience credits need to come from actual day-to-day operation or maintenance work in a domestic wastewater facility. This ensures you’ve gained practical, on-the-job familiarity with running the plant, handling routine tasks, monitoring processes, and responding to normal and abnormal conditions.

The remaining credits can come from other relevant activities related to wastewater work, such as supervision, planning, or ancillary roles, but they don’t replace the need for solid hands-on experience. So, the minimum required portion is 50%.
